A place in the arts community

August 2019

I am honored to announce that three of my paintings were selected to be hung at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor, Michigan, a new $25 million, 500-seat performing arts center serving Northern Michigan.

Left: "Beyond Me"

My paintings are part of the Center’s exhibit of work from 10 local artists and were selected by a local curator for their harmony with the palette and ambiance of the Center’s interiors.

All three of my paintings are very large. “Beyond Me,” (72 x 48 inches) is in the lobby sitting area adjacent to the box office, a focal point for patrons. Two paintings, “Decibel Sound” and “Decibel Wave,” both 48 x 60 inches, are exhibited in the Community Engagement Room which is a social gathering spot for the Center’s many events.

Jill O’Neill, executive director of the Center, was kind to mention my love for watery blues and coastal impressions and how the paintings reflect the Center’s natural and calm and beauty and offer a welcoming feeling. Thank you, Jill!

When Paul and I attend events at the Center and I see my paintings, I feel such pride to be part of the Bay Harbor arts community.
