The Season of Love

I strive for balance to pursue all the happiness of the season. My creative juices are flowing – painting, decorating, cooking and preparing for the kids to come home.

Time in the studio is the refreshment I need to maintain peace and calm.

In honor of the holiday, I wanted to capture the spirit of joy and love and was moved to paint a girl figure. The process began as an abstract, which remains in her dress representing to me the overflowing abundance of the season.

Her ruby slippers, painted by happenstance, remind me that there’s no place like home, or wherever your heart leads you.
